2010 Catalogue

<!-- 080 -->Attar of Roses rose scent from £2.85

Attar of Roses rose scent from £2.85

Distinctive rose scent, makes a large plant, exc. for baking.

Quantity:  at  £0.00  each

Attar of Roses 3

Attar of Roses

Scent/Aroma: rose
Leaf:  tri-lobed, deep cut, mid green in colour
Flower:  lilac/pale pink, flowers over a long period,
Growing habit: makes a very large plant with upright stems as well as having a semi-trailing and sprawling habit.  May reach up to 18” – 24” in height and as much as 36” in diameter.
Other Info:  If growing inside you may keep the plant to a reasonable size by regular trimming and keeping the roots fairly pot bound.  We do recommend that the roots are trimmed back from time to time and repot with fresh compost.  Performs well with regular feeding, which is important for all Scenteds.
Extensively used in the cosmetic and perfumery industry and very useful for Recipes, herbal preparations etc.

Attar of Roses 2

Annie and Guy's Comments:

Attar of Roses is an attractive house or garden plant but has many other uses - see also Recipe and Uses.  High on our Customers Top Favourites List.

* use in potpourri and scented sachets within the home
* hair rinses and fragrant baths
* scented sugars for baking
* baking and jams
Makes quite a large plant as it matures, easy to establish and making new growth quickly.  New cuttings taken will soon root, preferably using bottom heat although will strike in a light and warm situation.  Cuttings may be taken by pinching out or by heels - do not use rooting hormone on any scented geraniums.

Please read Ordering, Payment & Delivery Information

Many of the Scented Leaf Group do make very large plants, however, by regular pruning and by carefully trimming the roots back occasionally you will be able to keep any of the types to a manageable size for indoors.
