Scent/aroma: spicy apple
Leaf: grey-green, lacey, rounded, soft and velvety to the touch
Flower: white, small but with an abundance of sprays
Growing Habit: compact with dense inner, semi-trailing branches, Ht. 8" to 12" x up to 12" spread
Other Info: Cultivar. Ideal for pots and containers and particularly good for hanging baskets. Oils from the leaves when infused in sugar makes a useful apple scented sugar for baking.
Annie and Guy's Comment: On performance Lilian Pottinger is hard to beat as she puts on new growth easily and is a prolific flowerer. We love the daintiness of the leaf as well as the contrasting white sprays of flowers against the grey/green leaves. Dainty and very attractive with a spreading and semi-trailing habit making a really good sized plant.
Some of the Scenteds do make very large plants, however, by regular pruning and by carefully trimming the roots back occasionally you will be able to keep any of the types to a manageable size for indoors.
