Our Collection is forever growing and we do understand that opening every single product page may be very time consuming, not to mention mind blowing with all of the information we provide. What do we mean by a Starter Sized Scented Leaf Pelargonium?
Scented Leaf Pelargoniums have quite diverse growing habits and do not come in a standard size; all are individually unique. Sizes vary enormously from the Starter through to the Mature.
Due to this we cannot specifically say that a Starter would be a certain size. It may be 3" in height or it may be as much as 10". This is why we do not show a photo of a hand with a baby plant in it!! It isn't practical and it could well be very misleading. We are being very honest when we state this.
We use different ways of propagation and the size of the plant material would also vary and this too would result in a non-standard sized Starter plant.
Jiffy 7's Propagation Method: Quite a lot of our Customers have never heard of Jiffy 7's although they are widely used by many commercial companies. Should you receive this type of Starter please do not be tempted to tug at the top as you will break away the roots. We do check that every individual Starter plant has rooted - trust us they will grow into large Scented Leaf Pelargoniums in quite a short space of time. Also, please remove the plastic bag before potting - yes we have had Customers plant the bag too.
When we have good stock levels many of our Starter sized plants would be towards the 'Medium' size as they would have been happily growing away for a few months and we would always post out the larger plant at no additional cost.
If you prefer Instant Appeal our Medium Size would be more suitable than the Starter Size
If you are looking for a plant that will provide Instant Appeal the Medium Size would be a better choice. We also recommend the Medium Size for Customers living in Ireland or in EU Countries. They take the travelling and the postal delays much better!
