Slow Release Fertiliser, Perlite & Epsom Salts are really useful products that may be used for the majority of plants in your garden and in your home.

Basacote 12 months Controlled Slow Release Fertiliser Scented Geraniums love this slow release feed and the continuing health of your plants will prove this!! Basacote Plus is a commercial strength type that we use here at our Nursery and it is not readily available in shops or garden centres in the UK or Ireland.
How to Use:
Add to the compost/perlite mix when you pot up your plants - you do not need a lot as it is extremely economical, e.g. 1 teaspoon to a 9cm pot size or 2 teaspoons to a 1 litre pot size.
No mess, convenient and ensures that your plants receive all of the necessary nutriments that they need on a regular basis for up to 12 months.
A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY - don't over do it as it isn't necessary.
When you move your plants on in to larger pots add some more slow release granules in to the fresh compost/perlite mix.
PERLITE Perlite is a naturally occurring mineral that has numerous uses. In horticulture it is added to compost or other planting medium to aid drainage, which prevents roots sitting in too much water.
How to use:
ratio is 6 cups of compost/1 cup perlite
mix well in to compost or other planting medium before potting up your plants
the perlite opens up the compost or growing medium and allows air to circulate freely around the roots
it aids drainage of excess water as Scented Geraniums do not like having 'wet feet'
perlite absorbs moisture from the compost which provides a temporary reserve if you forget to water
Epsom Salts - Magnesium Sulphate
How to Use:
As your Scented Geraniums become larger they will benefit enormously by an additional feed of magnesium, as will many of your other plants, such as tomatoes, perennials and shrubs.
Epsom Salts may be given as a foliar feed to the leaves of a variety of plants. All pelargonium will perform better with a regular foliar feed when they are actively growing.
Add 1 teaspoon to one pint of cold water in a spray bottle. You can buy these for about £1.
Administer a light spray of the dilution to the top and underside of the leaves, working around the plant as you do this.
Within 24 hours you will be amazed at how green and healthy the leaves look!
