15 to 20 Scented Pelargonium Leaves per bag
(depending on the size of the leaf and we are often very generous and send more)
usually enough for 2 recipes
All types of Scented Leaf Pelargonium - Scented Geraniums are classified as HERBS. They are non-toxic and are safe to eat although it is not recommended that the leaves are eaten in large quantities. Generally, the leaves are used in the same way as other herbs, i.e. as an addition to other ingredients, to impart subtle flavouring to a recipe, or as a garnish. For example, all of the lemon/citrus types go well with fish. Rose, cinnamon, nutmeg, apple types etc., add a subtle taste to sponges and cake recipes. There's even a peppermint scented leaf to make your own herbal mint tea, aids sleep and relaxation, at a fraction of the cost of herbal tea bags.
The aromatic oils from the leaves of Scented Geraniums are extensively used in the cosmetic and perfumery industry; make your own chemical free soap, hair rinses, lotions. Quite a few types have medicinal qualities and are used in herbal remedies. One of our talented Customers utilised the back of an Attar of Roses leaf to inprint the veins of the leaf in her silver jewellery creations and extremely beautiful it was. As you can see the uses for the leaves are endless.
As we often say: 'the numerous uses for Scented Geranium leaves will only be limited by your own imagination!' We hope that you enjoy experimenting.
