Happy New Year for 2009 from Annie and Guy(January 01, 2009)
Wishing all our valued customers and the many scented geranium admirers throughout the world who view our website a most prosperous and happy year ahead.
It looks as if it might be a tough year for all of us no matter where you might be based in the world. Growing just one scented geranium will bring you lots of pleasure for a small initial outlay and will outlive the 'credit crunch'! The beautiful scents that Nature gives to us have a truly calming effect, as well as the many uses there are for the versatile aromatic leaves.
People are amazed to discover that the leaves may be used in cooking but they really do add a fantastic natural dimension to cakes, drinks and lots more. The limit of how and where the leaves may be used is governed by your imagination. We recently made apple jelly with Graveolens leaves and the subtle and delicate flavour is very moorish. Apple jelly goes well with most meat and fish and is good on toast used as a jam. We have some recipes on our website and we hope to add more through 2009.
All scented geraniums, excepting the pungent ones, are suitable for utilising in cooking so we do hope that you give this a go.
We are always on the lookout for new recipes and uses for scented geraniums and would appreciate you emailing these to us if you have any. Hopefully we should be able to find a little more time this coming year to add new recipes and ideas and also to add more news stories on a regular basis.
