Cold Weather Delivery Information - URGENT UPDATE please read..... (January 13, 2010)
The following applies to UK, Ireland and all other EU Countries
Due to the current extreme cold weather conditions our first disptach date for 2010 has been reviewed and is now scheduled to commence from the 1st/2nd week in February. If you have or are about to place an Order we shall keep you informed with any date revision that may be deemed necessary and unavoidable.
Today, 13th January 2010, Belfast Airport has been closed due to the heavy snowfalls overnight. Road conditions around the Belfast area are hazardous and severe weather warnings have been given out.
All Royal Mail leaving Northern Ireland and due to be delivered to other UK areas, letters and parcels, are sent to the Mainland via air and is then distributed by road. Many areas of the UK Mainland are still experiencing heavy snow making driving conditions very difficult.
Ireland and EU Countries - from the News Items that we have been watching there are lots of EU Countries that are experiencing severe winter weather. We shall be monitoring the weather across Europe and we shall not post out orders until we feel it is safe to do so. Therefore, Dispatch dates may vary from Country to Country.
Due to the above it is inevitable that there will be mail backlogs building up everywhere. This is why we will delay sending out our Orders until we think it is safe to do so. Generally, from leaving our Nursery Scented Leaf Pelargoniums will take a delay of up to 7 days without suffering. Parcels left sitting in postal sorting offices would invariably result in plant deaths.
Ordering Early is Advisable - we do recommend that you place your order early as the months of January/February/March/April/May is our busiest period of the year.
If you Order early you may specify a delivery week to suit you - we appreciate that not everyone has a greenhouse or space to keep their plants during cold/frosty weather. If you would like to place your Order well in advance you may specify in the Special Instructions during Checkout approx. when you would like your plants delivering. Alternatively, when you have ordered please use the Contact Us page here on our website and we'll attach a Note to your Order.
We do understand and appreciate from past experience that once Orders are placed that many people do enjoy receiving their plants quickly. Our 'Let's be Fair' Policy states that we dispatch Orders by the date that they are received and we do not do queue jumping when we receive emails that attempt to put pressure on us. Another good reason to place your Order early!
If you would like any clarification regarding anticipated Delivery please do not hesitate to Contact Us.
